It is amazing how inexpensive Bluetooth speakers have become lately. In fact, I just recently saw a speaker offered for less than $15. So how good are those inexpensive Bluetooth speakers? Let me take a look at this product.
Bluetooth speakers have begun to replace classic models of wireless speakers. That is not surprising because they are for several advantages. One advantage is that they are very inexpensive. The other advantage is that they are usually portable. That means that they carry a battery and as such do not have to be connected to power. Obviously, you have to keep in mind that batteries have several limitations.
One of these limitations is the fact that you will never achieve great wattage from Bluetooth portable speakers. That is because batteries are usually fairly small and therefore only offer limited voltage and limited current. Both voltage and current are limiting factors when it comes to wattage. Low wattage means low volume. That means that Bluetooth portable speakers usually have fairly limited use when being used outdoors. The outdoor environment usually has a fair amount of noise that has to be drowned out in order for the speakers to be effective.
In fact, they are not that many out the speakers which are portable and offer enough wattage to be useful for covering a large area. Soundcast is a company which makes speakers which incorporate a huge battery. The speakers have decent volume but are quite expensive. There least expensive model retails for over $600 with the top model selling for $900. However, the speakers are not Bluetooth compatible.
Another factor which makes Bluetooth speakers very attractive is the fact that they don’t require a dedicated transmitter to work. In addition, you don’t even have to install an app in order to stream music to the speakers. Most cell phones and portable devices have Bluetooth already preinstalled so that you can simply pair the speakers with the device and start streaming audio. Therefore the speakers are very easy to use and versatile. However, the other disadvantage of portable speakers is the fact that the battery will only last for so long. Once the battery quits it is time to either recharge it or swap it. Swapping batteries can get quite expensive in the long run.
Most models of Bluetooth speakers incorporate a charge adapter which either has to be plugged in or incorporate inductive charging in which case the speakers will be able to charge when plugged into cradle. In terms of sound quality, Bluetooth speakers usually don’t excel because they are simply too small.
